How Do I:

Children's Action Board/Youth Planning Committee
Want to volunteer with Children for Children all year long? Join CFC’s Children’s Action Board (CAB) and the CFC Youth Planning Committee (YPC)! It’s a great way for students in grades 1 through 12 to be a part of Children for Children and help make a difference.

About the Children’s Action Board

The Children’s Action Board is a way for kids (ages 5 through 13) to participate regularly in CFC’s hands-on service projects and events. Once you’re a CAB member, we will keep you updated about each of our events so that you can continue volunteering with CFC. We’ll also keep track of your participation so that we can recognize your service.

How does it work?

    1. Fill out the CAB Registration Form when you come to volunteer at a Service Project of the Month or any other CFC hands-on service event, or contact us to request a registration form.

    2. You will receive your CAB Card and use it to keep track of your participation. In addition to your CAB Card, you will receive flyers about upcoming hands-on service events.

    3. Every time you participate in a CFC hands-on service event, we will celebrate by giving you a sticker to add to your CAB Card. As you participate in more and more CFC events, we will recognize your service by sending you a T-shirt, presenting you with Service Pins, and inviting you to be listed in the CAB Hall of Fame on our website!

    4. CAB members are invited to the end-of-the-year Service Picnic.
Check out our events calendar for more information on our Service Project of the Month and Global Youth Service Day (April 25th-27th) All CFC hands-on service events can be counted on your CAB Card. Thank you for getting involved and volunteering!

About the Youth Planning Committee

CFC’s Children's Action Board/Youth Planning Committee (YPC) is a team of New York City teens (ages 14 and up) that meets once a month during the school year to plan service events. The team’s primary goal is to develop and run a successful kick-off event and service event for Global Youth Service Day in April. The YPC also plays an instrumental role in CFC’s Family Fun’raiser, Grow Involved on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and Service Projects of the Month, helping to run activities and providing guidance to younger volunteers.

YPC members share a variety of tasks, including:

  • planning service events
  • developing creative service projects
  • promoting & marketing service opportunities
  • serving as CFC youth ambassadors at various service, educational, and promotional events

Parents or designated adults must accompany younger children and arrange transportation to and from events. Participation is free.

For more information on how to get involved, contact Mark Moravits at mark@childrenforchildren.org or call the CFC office at 212.850.4170.
