Hey, Educators!

There is no better way to teach your students the indispensable value of helping others than through service-learning. Children for Children wants your school and students to Grow Involved!

Getting Started
  • Check out our Calendar of Programs and Events, and bring your students to our next event.

  • Go to Kids for Community and find hundreds of opportunities for your students to make a difference in New York City. Easily link it to your school website as a resource for educators, students and parents alike.

  • Grow Involved Kit - Children for Children is pleased to offer for selected schools our Grow Involved Kit without charge. The kit helps teachers and service-learning coordinators plan a specific student-led, classroom-based youth service project on or around Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, commemorating his passion for service.

Student Programs

  • The service project of the month projects take place once or twice monthly during the school year. Educators are encouraged to contact us about bringing groups to the Service project of the month, or hosting a project. Check out our events calendar for this month's projects.

  • Encourage your students to "get active in the fight against malaria" by participating in CFC's Sweat for Nets program! This global service-learning program provides students with the tools necessary raise awareness about malaria and help raise funds for insecticide-treated bed nets. Sign-up today and begin making a difference at home and around the world.

Teacher and School programs

  • Is your school struggling to serve an under-resourced community without much-needed supplies? Do you know of a school that is? Learn more about Programs and Resources available to schools, including CFC's Annual Fund and Teacher's Aid Program grants.

  • The Celebrations Program helps your child share his or her next birthday, holiday or milestone event with another child. You can get your child's school or class involved as well! (For more formal celebrations CFC has attractive Book Basket Centerpieces for sale that benefit under-resourced schools.)

  • Start a book drive, join a book drive, or simply help get new and gently used books into schools with Children for Children's Book Programs. Be a parent representative at your child's school for the annual citywide book drive Project Cicero.

  • Project Cicero, the annual citywide drive co-founded by CFC with The New York Society Library and other NYC partners, collected and distributed more than 200,000 new and gently used books to under resourced schools in 2008. Learn more about how your school can get involved Project Cicero.

  • Submit an Interest Form to let us know how CFC can help bring critical resources to your school, or tell us how we can help your students Grow Involved!
