Panwapa is a Worldwide Kids Initiative designed to engage and inspire children to become global citizens. Panwapa comes from the people behind Sesame Street and is produced in partnership with the Merrill Lynch Foundation. Panwapa and Children for Children have teamed up together to provide new opportunities to explore global citizenry in a fun way.

Attention youth volunteers! We are excited to announce the creation of a the new Panwapa Service-Learning Activity Guide! The Panwapa service-learning activity guide is an educational tool developed by Panwapa and Children for Children to help young people create local and global change by incorporating service into various learning environments leading up to, and continuing on after, Global Youth Service Day on April 24-26th, 2009.

Making the Connection: Panwapa and Youth Service
The Panwapa service-learning activity guide focuses on five project-based lessons, each of which addresses one of the goals of the Panwapa Power Pact, which states that Panwapa Kids:
- are curious to explore the different people, languages and traditions around them, starting with their own cultures;
- delight in the diversity of the world because it offers infinite possibilities for fun and wonder;
- understand that many children - where they live and elsewhere in the world - do not have all of the things they need to live safely and comfortably;
- know that they should do their best to help make the world a fairer, safer place for all people;
- want to have their voices heard and respected at home, in their communities and beyond;
- believe their actions, large and small, have the power to change the way things are in their communities, their nations and around the world.
