	Join CFC for a Special June Service Project of the Month- This Saturday! Tues.Jun.02.2009 This Saturday, June 6, CFC will host a Community Music and Volunteer Festival for Global Awareness in Claremont Park, Bronx (Mt Eden Ave at Morris Ave). Performances by NYC youth – including music, spoken word, and more – will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., raising awareness about what youth can do to make a difference on global issues such as malaria. Audience members of all ages may choose to work on hands-on service projects while they enjoy the performances. For all ages. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Wed.Apr.22.2009 This Saturday, Children for Children will host a hands-on volunteer day in four locations across New York City, and a special Celebration of Service Picnic in Manhattan. During this day of service, CFC will be doing what it does best, mobilizing hundreds of volunteers of all ages as part of our annual celebration of National Volunteer Week, Global Youth Service Day, Earth Day, and World Malaria Day. The Summit is a one-day event designed to offer young people the opportunity to learn more about the ways they can positively impact others, develop leadership skills, and transform the world around them by attending expert workshops and completing hands-on service projects. There is no better way to teach your students the indispensable value of helping others than through service-learning. Children for Children wants your school and students to Grow Involved!

CFC provides a continuum of youth-service projects and free curricula that span the full breadth of development - from early childhood through high school. Click here to see a listing of program toolkits, guides, and lesson plans that you can download online or request by mail.
The service project of the month projects take place once or twice monthly during the school year, typically on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. Educators are encouraged to contact us about bringing groups to the Service project of the month, or hosting a project. Check out our events calendar for this month's projects.

Grow Involved Kit - Children for Children is pleased to offer for selected schools our Grow Involved Kit without charge. The kit helps teachers and service-learning coordinators plan a specific student-led, classroom-based youth service project on or around Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, commemorating his passion for service.
Encourage your students to participate in the Youth Planning Committee or the Children's Action Board.
Learn how students can make a difference at home and around the world. Children for Children’s Sweat for Nets service-learning program is designed to help teachers and youth volunteer coordinators incorporate youth service into their schools and communities. Focused on malaria and the significance of this issue as a global pandemic, the lesson plans feature materials for student-led service projects, as well as additional resources to encourage continued dedication to giving and volunteering.
